How To Stop Dog Barking
Using A Little Stealth!

Neighbor's dog got you down, or even your's? Want to know how to stop dog barking?

If you have you ever lived in a neighborhood that had an incessant barking dog you may have already dealt with this problem by moving!

This is an extreme measure and would certainly be the last resort for most of us. Add to that, the possibility of ending up in a place where the problem comes up again!

As a dog lover, a lot of my sympathy lies with the dog that really needs help to change this unwanted behavior. As a peace lover, I want to be considerate of my neighbors. I expect you do too.

How To Stop Dog Barking Tips

It's one thing to deal with your own dog's barking, but it a whole different challenge when it's someone else's dog.

Let's face it, you're not keen on contacting the owner and you certainly don't want to shoot the dog. So your options are a bit limited.

  • You can't just barge in there and have a heart to heart with Fido about the racket he's making. Plus, some people don't have a problem with their dog's endless barking and have no intention of stopping it.

  • Also, if you're dealing with this type of neighbor, they probably won't give you any air time if you try suggesting that the dog might be barking out of boredom, loneliness, or perhaps needs a bit more exercise.

It's pretty much a certainty that one of those conditions is the cause of the problem - the dog is just trying to convey it in the only way he knows how.

Avoiding Confrontation

So, among your efforts to avoid a confrontation, you may want to try:

  • Sending the neighbor an anonymous note about how to stop barking dogs, along with a good dog training book .
  • Or, perhaps you could go out in the dead of night and leave one of the anti-bark collars on their doorstep?

  • Reporting them to the authorities for disturbing the peace is something you probably want to avoid if at all possible - right?

How To Stop Dog Barking - The Stealth Approach

When you tried everything else you can think of to no avail, and you're at your wit's end, you may want to try this more stealthy approach:

  • What I'm proposing is an ultrasonic dog barking deterrent. Setting up one of these ultrasonic bark control systems is an easy and humane way to let your neighbor's dog, or even your dog for that matter, know when enough is enough.

This unit can be fastened to a tree, put on a wall, hung from a crook, or attached to almost anything convenient to your ideal location.

These anti-barking devices automatically detect barking and work by emitting a high-pitched sound heard only by the dog which interrupts their barking.

After a short while the dog learns that he can stop that annoying noise the system is sending, by stopping his own annoying noise - barking.

Some systems have the option of making the sound audible, in which case both the dog and his owner will be getting the message!

However much you love dogs, excessive barking can really get on your nerves after a while.
