If you have a dog that likes to hang ten in the surf, or just likes to hang out with other dog buddies at the beach, mark your calendar for Sept.19, 2010. On that day, starting at 7:00 a.m., the Surf City Surf Dog event gets underway at the dog beach in Huntington Beach, California, beginning with registration and a one or two mile Woofin Walk for dogs and owners at 8:00 a.m., - benefits going to local pet charities. The actual heats for the surfing dogs contest starts at 8:20, beginning with the small, medium and large dogs and extra large dogs that are at the novice level, after which the experienced shredders will have their chance to compete. At 11:30 to 12 noon, the Cowabunga Canine Costume Contest, plus the Owner-Dog-Look-A-Like contest will take place. This is a fun event for non-surfing dogs and their owners to join in. The finals for the surfing contest will begin at 12:30 p.m. Throughout the day a Hot Diggity Dog Expo will be ongoing. If you have a dog that you think might like to take up surfing, two surfing clinics are planned for August 21, 2010 and September 11, 2010 at the Dog Beach, corner of Goldenwest and Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, California.
